Mímir in a new guise – a new look and a new website
Mímir has taken a big step forward with a new look and a revamped website. This is a complete rebrand based on a new logo, fresh design and a clearer user experience.
The new logo draws inspiration from books on a shelf – a symbol of learning and knowledge. Simple and strong forms form the basis of all presentation, whether in digital or print media. The typeface has also been custom-designed, with the brand's characteristics reflected in its letterforms.
The rebranding emphasised holding on to Mímis's roots. The book, a key symbol of the previous logo, is given new life in an updated form. The colour palette has expanded and evolved – the colours are now softer and more considered, while still offering a diverse and vibrant presentation.
Mímir's new brand is to radiate security and trust. Mímir is a place where everyone is welcome and should feel at home – a modern school with a clear vision based on progressiveness, professionalism and collaboration.
The new website is Mímis's first point of contact with students, and so special emphasis was placed on simple accessibility and a clear layout. It is now easier than ever to find a suitable course, thanks to improved search functionality and powerful filters. All text has been rewritten and images are given more space to be appreciated.
A great deal of work has gone into the new website. Mímir received strong support from experts in web matters; Fúnksjón vefráðgjöf managed the project in close collaboration with a team from Mímir's staff, Avista handled the web development and Metall the design. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to them and are truly proud of the result.
The aim is clear: to improve the user experience, simplify processes and enable people to serve themselves – without losing personal service. The website is also available in many languages, reflecting Mímis diverse student body.
„For me, this is first and foremost about our people. We want everyone who comes to us – whether online or in person – to immediately feel welcome and that it's a good place to be. The new look and website are meant to reflect that: simplicity, professionalism and warmth, but also our ambition to be progressive and to constantly improve our service,“ says Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir.
Continuous development forward
Mímis new website is not an end point, but a major milestone in the company's digital journey. By closely monitoring usage and listening to user feedback, the website will be developed further in line with changing needs.
The project is a fine example of how good preparation, close collaboration and continuous feedback deliver the best results. A new website, therefore, is not just an update – it is more secure, more accessible and built on technology that is better equipped to serve users into the future.
