Competency assessment

What is a competency assessment?

A recognition of prior learning means having the skills you have already acquired recognised as study or work experience. A recognition of prior learning is also a way to support you in progressing in your studies or career.

You assess your experience in collaboration with an adviser and a professional. The results of the assessment can shorten a course of study or help you gain recognition for knowledge you have acquired through life and work. In this way, a competency assessment can serve as a springboard for further study or open up new career opportunities.
