The benefits for companies of enhancing staff's Icelandic skills are manifold. The most notable of these are increased job satisfaction and interpersonal communication, lower staff turnover and More informed staff which in turn has a positive effect on employees' quality of life. The courses are always tailored to the needs of the workplace. An expert from Mímir analyses the individual's needs for Icelandic language tuition and defines the aims and priorities of the course in collaboration with the workplace.

An assessment of staff's Icelandic proficiency is carried out at the beginning and end of the course. Staff also have access to a learning and careers adviser throughout the course. At the end of the course, an online evaluation of the course is conducted and the results are submitted to the workplace, along with certificates of attendance. The courses can be held at the workplace or at Mímir's premises.

Mímir offers companies and institutions a variety of services to enhance their staff's Icelandic and to promote Icelandic as a language of communication in the workplace. Companies can enter into partnership agreements with Mímir for a specified period, covering particular services, or purchase individual courses. Mímir applies for a subsidy from the Ministry of Education and Children for Icelandic language courses. Companies can also apply to the Staff Training Fund for grants towards the course.
