You will expand your vocabulary and boost your confidence in using the language. We focus on comprehension and speaking practice that is useful in everyday life.
The Icelandic 3 course is tailored for you who are continuing to learn Icelandic. The course focuses on building a varied vocabulary for everyday language. You will practise all aspects of the language: comprehension, reading, writing and speaking, using a variety of practical methods.
Icelandic 3 is an intermediate course at level A2.1 according to The European Language Framework. A variety of teaching materials are used on the course, and active student participation ensures that learning Icelandic is both effective and enjoyable. The course materials Icelandic for everyone 3 is used in addition to games, cards, supplementary materials and various electronic aids.
You continue to learn Icelandic, which is useful in daily life and relates to social issues and your needs.
You learn about and use various techniques that increase your confidence in speaking Icelandic.
We place an emphasis on speech practice, and you will practise sentences in both conversation and narration.
All language skills are practised in the Icelandic course: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The grammar is continued to be presented and practised in a simple and practical way in relation to the course material and what you have already learnt.
Your skills are assessed at the end of the course and you are given advice on the next steps in your Icelandic studies.
The course is for people, 18 and over, who wants to learn Icelandic.
The prerequisite is Icelandic 1 and 2 (80 hours) or equivalent knowledge.
At the third level, Icelandic is used in teaching. Participants must be able to read and write in Latin script.

Other: For those coming from countries outside the EEA: Part of the conditions set by the Immigration Authority for obtaining indefinite leave to remain in Iceland is to have completed 150 lessons/120 hours of Icelandic language study. It does not matter if different levels are taken or if levels are repeated.
