  • Train speech in a variety of ways: We place an emphasis on speech training and communication skills to help you express yourself confidently in a variety of situations. You will practise both formal and informal speech in conversations, discussions and narratives.
  • Improving Icelandic pronunciation: Proper pronunciation is practised based on training in understanding and  Flow in communication.
  • Increase your confidence in speaking Icelandic: You will build up the confidence to use Icelandic in all sorts of situations.
  • Training in using grammar: More complex grammar is explored and deepened in relation to speaking exercises and students' prior knowledge.
  • Get advice on the next steps: Your skills are assessed at the end of the course and you are given advice on the next steps in your Icelandic studies.

Upon enrolling on an Icelandic course, students agree to be moved between groups if necessary to ensure the best possible learning outcome.

Each course is tailored to the specific group of students, so the focus may vary between groups to meet your needs.

The course is for people, 18 and over, who wants to learn Icelandic. The prerequisite is Icelandic 1, 2 and 3 (120 hours) or equivalent proficiency. The course is taught in Icelandic. Participants must be able to express themselves in comprehensible Icelandic and take part in simple conversations. Participants must be able to read and write in the Latin script.

  • Free assessment for registered studentsA placement test at the start of the course is included in the course fee. for those who need it to know which level suits them best in their Icelandic studies. This ensures quality and better results.
  • Compulsory attendance: In order to to graduate and get certificate is necessary to achieve 75% attendance on the course.
