High demand for courses at Mímir in the spring term

Nearly 120 students started courses in Mímir's further education programmes in January. The 'Foundations of Learning' programme is ever-popular, with 83 students currently enrolled, 21 in General Academic Subjects and 16 in the advanced programme at the Stóriðjuskólinn. This is not to mention the further education students who started their studies in the autumn term at Mímir and are graduating this spring.

Further education aims to provide adult individuals with a short formal education history with appropriate learning opportunities and to make it easier for them to resume their studies. The programme is supported by the Education Fund, to which the Althingi (the Icelandic parliament) allocates funding in the annual budget. The fund's primary purpose is to ensure that learning opportunities are available for people with a short formal education.

Those interested in training are advised to contact the study and careers adviser at Mímir on 5801800 or by email at [email protected]
