The Annual General Meeting of Mímir Lifelong Learning was held on 18 May.

The Annual General Meeting of Mímis Lifelong Learning was held at Mímis' premises at Höfðabakka 9 on 18th May. There, representatives of the owners and management met to review the year's activities and the company's status.

The Executive Director of Mímir, Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, presented the main priorities and achievements of the work over the past year. It was reported, among other things, that the organisation's operations strengthened and turnover increased by just over 12%, mainly due to increased demand for Icelandic language tuition and vocational training. Despite increased investment in infrastructure and technological solutions, the year's performance was positive.

Demand for learning remained high, both among individuals and in workplaces, reflecting the importance of further education in a society where skill requirements are constantly changing. Emphasis was placed on innovation in teaching, the development of new courses, and the increased use of technological solutions to improve accessibility and the quality of learning.

Student satisfaction remained very high, with 93% of students being satisfied or very satisfied with their studies and teaching at Mímir. A special emphasis was also placed on student advice and support, with a total of 1,747 study and career guidance interviews conducted during the year. The scope of the Recognition of Prior Learning also increased, with 78 individuals completing such an assessment.

The meeting also revealed that Mímir participated in a wide range of development and cooperation projects, both domestically and internationally, with the aim of strengthening Icelandic language teaching, developing educational materials, and supporting people's participation in the labour market.
The auditor of Mímir presented the association's annual accounts and went over their main findings. The meeting proceeded in the usual manner and statutory matters were dealt with, including the adoption of the annual report and the annual accounts.

Mímis's operations are based on a strong workforce; the association employed 23 permanent staff and 145 teachers and contractors during the year. Furthermore, a strong emphasis was continued to be placed on quality work, improvements and social responsibility.
The Mímir Annual General Meeting is an important forum to review the past year's operations and activities and to set a clear strategy for the future, where the emphasis will continue to be on development, the use of technology, and enhancing opportunities for adults to learn and work.
