Activism course in collaboration with the Efling trade union

It is clear that Mímir, along with other centres for lifelong learning across the country, will play an important role in the coming months in supporting the many people who have lost their jobs in recent months. This urgent task must be carried out in close cooperation with the trade unions, and Mímir has already begun collaborating with the Efling trade union to organise four short courses under the title 'Back to Work'. The courses are designed to empower those who are looking for work, including teaching how to create a skills portfolio, a CV and a cover letter. They also cover practical tips for job hunting and how to use computer technology and communication apps in the search for a new job.

The courses will be taught in Icelandic and English.

The courses are open to all members of Efling trade union, Verkalýðsfélagið Hlíf in Hafnarfjörður, and Verkalýðs- og sjómannafélag Keflavíkur og nágrennis (VSFK).

Starfsafl will fund the development phase of the project to the value of 90% of the costs, in addition to the costs incurred for the translation of the curriculum.
