Christmas greetings from the Managing Director and opening hours

Dear students and colleagues

The end of this year, which in many ways has been shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, is fast approaching. I am filled with gratitude to you all. I am proud of how you have coped with the difficult and challenging circumstances in school life and in society.
Nearly 250 people are graduating this autumn from various courses at Mímir. Graduations have taken place in an unconventional format this year due to the current situation in society. Instead of one joint graduation ceremony, each group has celebrated the milestone together in their own classroom. We certainly miss not having a large graduation ceremony, but these smaller events have been no less festive.

I would like to thank you for the trust you have shown in Mími, the staff and the teachers, by allowing us to be a part of your lives. It takes courage to return to your studies after such a long break. What we are all experiencing because of the pandemic is an important lesson that we will carry with us. You have overcome various obstacles along the way and shown valuable enthusiasm and perseverance. These are qualities that will serve you well in the future. I wish you every success in the new year – whether your path leads you back to us at Mími or in another direction – as you face new challenges in life and work. I would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and the many teachers at Mími for the fantastic work they do. It must never be forgotten what a significant impact you have on the lives of individuals and their futures. I would also like to thank our partners and others who have been consulted.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 infection numbers are rising in the community. Better times will come. In the meantime, let us continue to practise essential infection control, look after one another, and focus on what gives life its value.
In light of the rapid spread of COVID-19 infections, Mímis' premises at Höfðabakka 9 and Öldugata 23 will be closed during the week of 20th to 24th December, and all services will be provided by telephone and online. Mími will then be closed for the Christmas period from 24th December to 3rd January.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a successful New Year.

Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir
