Cooperation agreement between Mímir and the University of Iceland
Mímir Lifelong Learning and the University of Iceland have entered into a partnership agreement, which aims to provide participants in the Sprettur project at the University of Iceland with access to study and career guidance services provided by Mímir. Sprettur is a recent project within the teaching department of the University of Iceland that supports and prepares secondary school students with an immigrant background for university studies. The project's aim is to promote equal opportunities in education and to increase the number of university students from immigrant backgrounds.
According to Kristín Erla Þráinsdóttir, a careers and study adviser at Mímir, this combines the strengths of Mímir and the University of Iceland, which share the common goal of promoting increased education in society through close support for students when it comes to choosing their course of study. Nílsína Larsen Einarsdóttir, project manager of Sprettur, echoes these sentiments, adding: „It is a mutual benefit for us and for society as a whole to create diverse opportunities to support and encourage education.“.
