Do you want to go back to school?

It takes courage to enrol in education again, even after a long break. We at Mímir know this very well and understand it. Among the tools we provide to students starting their studies at the Learning Centres is study skills. Learning is a skill, and once you master it, the rest is easier. We know that everyone can learn, but we need to teach the methods at the beginning.

Study skills deliver long-term success

Study skills are, to a certain extent, about self-empowerment. We find the method that suits each individual and help students to adopt new techniques as appropriate. By doing so, we enhance their capacity for learning and increase the likelihood of them gaining a better grasp of the subject matter.

Organised working methods, study techniques for different subjects, note-taking techniques, reading methods and exam preparation are all ways that help us to succeed in our studies.

In study skills, students learn to:

  • To know in general terms what affects learning.
  • Understand the fundamentals of learning technology
  • apply learning techniques that suit your own learning style
  • By the end of the course, be able to apply organised working methods and self-discipline to one's studies.
  • Recognise the context between self-confidence and behaviour, and the impact of these factors in interactions with others.
  • to recognise how to boost self-confidence and self-responsibility in relation to one's own well-being
  • Strengthen their skills for working in teams

It's simpler than you think to start your studies again. Now is the time to find out more about the course and even book an appointment with a Mímir study and careers adviser, which is free of charge, to get advice on whether your dream is within reach.
