Five students graduate from the Business and Services programme
The vocational programme in Retail and Service is a course for working retail staff. The programme is 90 credits and is a combination of distance learning and on-the-job training in the companies. Through a recognition of prior learning, it is possible to determine the knowledge and work experience the employee possesses. All the students have completed the Recognition of Prior Learning assessment with Mími-símenntun, where each individual's skills and abilities were assessed for credits against taught modules. This allowed individuals with professional experience and skills to have them assessed for credits and a shortening of their course. The aims of the course include increasing students' knowledge and skills in the workplace, training them to provide customers with excellent service, and enabling them to manage shop floor tasks in accordance with the current organisation and plans.
