Mímir's Annual General Meeting 2023

The Mímis' Annual General Meeting was held on 12th May at the Mími premises at Höfðabakka 9. The meeting reviewed the 2022 working year, which is also Mími's twentieth anniversary year. Mímis's activities in its twentieth anniversary year grew and thrived, with more people than ever using its services. As in all previous years, Mímir strove to offer students, teachers and partners a professional and efficient service. The staff at Mímir were at the forefront of this and were very successful.

„Everyone benefits from building up education in the community. Increased knowledge directly benefits the community, the workplace, and individuals. We are doing our bit to raise the nation's educational standard,“ said Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir, at the annual general meeting. „The staff at Mími have, through diligence and dedication, achieved great success in developing innovations, organising a large number of courses and taking pride in providing a good service. The emphasis has been on maintaining the highest standards of quality in both learning and service. Our students and clients greatly appreciate this, and we notice a high level of loyalty towards Mími from them. For that, we are grateful.“

In January 2022, the National Centre for Education, on behalf of the Minister of Education and Culture, renewed Mímir's accreditation as a training provider. Mímir has been recognised as an accredited training provider for years, and the accreditation is renewed every three years.

For the fourth time, Mímir received recognition from Creditinfo as an outstanding company in 2022, and for the fifth consecutive year, fulfilled the strict criteria of the Viðskiptablaðið and Keldan to be named a model company in 2022.

„It is clear that there will continue to be a need for further education in Iceland, and in this, adult education centres across the country play an important role. Mímir is no exception, being the largest of these centres. In a constantly changing society, it is necessary to continually review priorities and methods in line with the needs of the business community. The emphasis on workplace learning has been growing, and Mímir has endeavoured to meet that need,“ Sólveig added. A strategic review is now underway, which is being carried out in several stages, with the results expected by the end of 2023.

Sólveig finally thanked the board, the staff of Mímir, customers and partners for their excellent cooperation during the year, and the board, staff and teachers for their strong and ambitious work.
