News about Mími on the ECML website
A news item was recently published on the website of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) about a dynamic workshop on teaching Icelandic as a second language in the workplace, which was held for Icelandic language teachers and Mímis project managers last August. The importance of the event was clear, given that the proportion of foreign nationals in Iceland has grown significantly in recent years, and the business community is increasingly reliant on foreign staff.
The workshop discussed innovations in teaching methods and the development of learning materials for Icelandic language learning in the workplace. Participants gained a better understanding of how to develop Icelandic language courses that are better tailored to the needs of staff and workplaces. The workshop therefore marked an important step in improving Icelandic language teaching for immigrants in Iceland, which contributes to their better integration into the Icelandic labour market.
