Mímir and Landspítali in partnership on Icelandic courses
Currently, Mímir and Landspítalinn are running seven Icelandic courses on the hospital's premises. The partnership between Mímir and Landspítalinn began several years ago and has been successful and is constantly evolving. The courses are taught at five different proficiency levels, from beginner (level 1) to advanced (level 5). The second term of the year is currently underway; three terms are taught annually, and over 110 students attend the courses each time.
Teaching is conducted according to a curriculum tailored to Landspítali, with an emphasis on vocabulary and expressions used in healthcare. The aim of the courses is to support the hospital's staff in improving their Icelandic skills and to enhance communication in Icelandic at work.
