A two-day course for PE teachers

A two-day course for PE teachers was held this week at Hagaskóli, organised by Mímir. A total of 24 PE teachers took part and showed great interest in learning new techniques, games and exercises to use in their PE lessons.

Four experienced instructors shared their knowledge and experience during the course. The teaching was characterised by a high level of professionalism and energy, which further motivated the participants and created a positive and encouraging learning environment for everyone. During the course, participants learned and practised a variety of teaching methods for sports such as handball, basketball and gymnastics. They were shown fun examples of chase and shooting games and were taught how to use a variety of equipment, such as hula hoops, beanbags and skipping ropes, which are particularly suitable for the 6-16 age group.

The participants were very satisfied and had this to say about the course:

„The course was great, the teachers were good with a great approach and ideas. I will attend again.“

„I learnt lots of new things that I will definitely use in my teaching this winter.“

„The course was very good. What will be most useful to me in teaching are all the games that were covered. Also, in handball and basketball, it was great to get so many ideas for games to teach with the balls.“
