A large crowd at Mímis's Christmas celebration

Around fifty people attended Mímis's Christmas party, held at the Mímis premises on Wednesday, 17th December. Guests included teachers and staff from Mímis, as well as assessors for the practical skills assessment.

In her address, Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Director of Mímir, expressed her sincere thanks to those present for their collaboration over the past year – a year characterised by creativity, ambition and care for the students.

„You play a key role in the important task of inspiring hope in those returning after a long break from their studies, and in all those who are beginning a new life in a new culture, often with difficult life experiences behind them. Mímir is the place where people begin to find their feet, gain confidence and feel they belong. We live in a society where discussions about education often revolve around cost, technology, systems or even politics. But when we walk into a classroom, we all know that education is first and foremost about human connections – trust, ambition, joy, and a welcoming atmosphere. “It is this Christmas spirit, at its very best, that you bring to work and thus create the warm and safe environment that we all feel here every day," Sólveig said, among other things.

Edda Björgvinsdóttir was a special guest and chatted with those present about joy and sorrow – and not least about Christmas.

Mímir wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and thanks for the collaboration during the year that is drawing to a close.
