Mímir receives a grant from the Immigration Development Fund
Today, on International Human Rights Day, the Immigration Council held The breakfast meeting 'Immigrants and Society' where interesting talks were given about the status, participation and rights of immigrants in Iceland.
At the meeting, Inga Sæland, Minister for Social Affairs and Housing, awarded 28 grants from the Immigration Development Fund. This year, the emphasis was on projects that improve Icelandic language skills, strengthen the participation of immigrants in society, and build bridges between different groups.
Mímir Lifelong Learning received a grant for the project. „Icelandic language teaching and policy-making in Mýrdalshreppur – a needs analysis and the development of a guide“, which aims to analyse the linguistic and educational needs in the municipality and to formulate a clear strategy for the future.
We at Mímir look forward to working on this important project and contributing to the teaching of Icelandic and policy-making in this field in Mýrdalshreppur.
