Christmas Joy in Mími

„The true Christmas spirit is, first and foremost, about love, helpfulness and kind words to ourselves and others,“ said Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir, in her speech at the Christmas party for teachers, assessors in competence-based assessment, and Mímir staff, which was held at Mímir today.

Sólveig Hildur made the importance of trust and respect a central theme of her address, where she thanked the teachers and assessors for the excellent work they do for Mími. „Nearly three thousand students attend Mímir each year. That is not without reason. Mímir has succeeded in building a positive reputation. That is not done in a day, but is the result of a great deal of hard work by many people over many years,“ said Sólveig Hildur.

„We must never forget the great impact you have on individuals” lives and their future. Students trust us to be a part of their lives. Let us therefore continue to handle the trust we have been given well and respect it," said Sólveig Hildur, thanking those present for their contribution to the students of Mímir.

Auður Guðmundsdóttir, a former student of Mími, spoke about her experience with Mími and spoke highly of the great encouragement and patience the teachers showed her and her fellow students. She had not intended to go to the Basic School, Menntastoðir, the Keili foundation programme, or the University of Iceland when she decided to resume her studies after a break. The fact was, however, that she was now about to graduate with a BA in Social Work from the University of Iceland!

„Dreams can come true,“ said Audur, and thanked the teachers and staff for their part in her life.

The staff of Mímis would like to thank both teachers and assessors, past and present students, for their collaboration this year and in previous years. We are truly proud of our people.
