Director of Finance and Operations

The post holder is responsible for the day-to-day financial and operational management of the company and leads a strong team in this area. The Head of Department reports to the Managing Director and is a member of the company's Executive Board.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management and procedures of finance and accounting.
  • Management and monitoring of settlements and planning
  • Responsibility for invoicing and collection
  • Monitoring, analysis and preparation of operational reports and management information
  • Communication and negotiation with companies, funds, institutions and suppliers
  • Responsibility for IT and property management
  • Responsibility for the company's quality system and operating licences
  • Responsibility for human resources in the field
  • Other ad-hoc tasks

 

Educational and competency requirements

  • A university education that is relevant to the job, e.g. in business or finance, is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in comparable projects
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Good analytical skills and a good command of the processing and presentation of financial information.
  • Experience with implementing changes and/or automation is an advantage.
  • Organisational skills, a commitment to improvement and autonomy in work
  • Honesty, drive and a positive attitude
  • Good command of Icelandic and English
