Free Icelandic language assessment for Mímir students

Mímir offers registered students a free placement test in Icelandic to ensure they are placed in the most suitable course. This guarantees higher quality and better results for people who wish to improve their Icelandic skills. The placement test is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and is comparable to tests used widely across Europe. It consists of two parts: a written assessment via the Eurotest online assessment, and an oral assessment which is an online interview with a project manager at Mímir. The written assessment includes a self-assessment along with a test in reading, listening, vocabulary and grammar, and the oral assessment evaluates pronunciation and the ability to express oneself in Icelandic.

The placement test is completely free of charge for students who have enrolled on an Icelandic course with Mímir. After enrolling, students can book a placement test by sending an email to [email protected]. After the assessment, students are guided to the course that best suits their skills, ensuring that everyone starts in the right place.
