Season's greetings

Dear students, teachers and staff

The end of Mimir's 20th anniversary year is drawing near. Looking back on the year, gratitude is foremost in my mind. Gratitude for all the people who have been with us over the years and have grown and flourished in their studies and careers.

In 2023, over 2,100 students graduated from the various courses at Mímir. A large proportion of them studied Icelandic as a second language and in the educational foundations courses. I sincerely congratulate them all on their achievement. At the same time, I would like to thank the trust that students have shown in Mímir, its staff and teachers, by allowing us to be a part of their lives. The future is theirs, and it will be a pleasure to follow their progress.

In the 20 years that Mímir has been operating in its current form, countless people have found their way to us. It is incredibly rewarding and pleasing to see people begin their studies with such enthusiasm. This applies not only to those returning to their studies after a long break, but also to those who make the effort to learn our language to settle here better and become active participants in society. It truly requires courage and perseverance.

We at Mímir look to the future with optimism. We owe how well things are going to our hardworking and ambitious staff. I am certain that students feel that our staff and teachers, as well as our advisers, make a significant effort to educate and guide people on their way.

On behalf of Mímir, I would like to thank our clients and partners for their excellent collaboration throughout the year, and the board, staff and teachers for their dedicated and ambitious work. It is invaluable to have you with us at Mímir.

I wish you a happy holiday season and every success in the new year, and I look forward to seeing you in the new year.

With festive greetings,

Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir,
