Icelandic language test for Icelandic citizenship
Never before have so many people sat the Icelandic language test for applications for Icelandic citizenship in the first half of the year, and it is estimated that 270 people will visit Mími this week for that purpose.
In 2017, Mímir entered into a three-year partnership agreement with the National Education Agency to administer Icelandic language tests for applications for Icelandic citizenship. Two examination sessions are held each year, and the tests take place at Mímir's premises in Höfðabakka, as well as at Símey in Akureyri, the Westfjords Training Centre in Ísafjörður, and at Austurbrú in Egilsstaðir. A total of 428 people sat such an Icelandic language test with Mímir last year, compared to 463 in 2016.
