Icelandic language learning in partnership with businesses
Mímir has many years' experience of teaching Icelandic to international staff, and courses have been run in partnership with companies successfully since 2003. We recently recorded videos, which can be seen below, about our collaboration with both Brim and Landspítalinn.
The courses at Mímir are based on recognised teaching methods that encourage increased communication in Icelandic, which can have a significant impact on the company culture, staff confidence, and general communication within companies and organisations.

The benefits for companies of enhancing Icelandic language skills among their staff are numerous. These include increased job satisfaction and internal communication, lower staff turnover, and a more informed workforce, which in turn has a positive impact on the quality of life of foreign employees. The courses are always tailored to the needs of the labour market. An expert from Mímir analyses the workplace's needs for Icelandic language tuition and defines the aims and priorities of the course in collaboration with the workplace. An assessment of the staff's Icelandic proficiency is carried out at the beginning and at the end of the course. Staff also have access to learning and career guidance throughout the course. At the end of the course, an online evaluation of the course is carried out and the results are submitted to the workplace along with certificates of participation. The courses can be held at the workplace, via distance learning, or at Mímir's premises.
