Mímir introduces new digital teaching materials for teachers in distance education.

Mímir has led the KeNNA development project, which focuses on the development of new digital teaching materials. It is intended for teachers in further education, with a special focus on distance learning and digital working methods. The project received a grant from the Further Education Training Fund and is based on a needs analysis of teachers and students in distance learning in Icelandic as a second language.

The project's output is 20 short and concise tutorial videos, each of which focuses on one of the twenty principles for effective distance learning. The videos are between 9 and 20 seconds long and cover topics such as technical aspects, teaching methods, motivation and communication with students.

All the videos are now available on YouTube and will also be placed on the Mímir website, where they will serve as a brief and practical guide for teachers in the planning and delivery of distance teaching. The aim is for the material to be widely useful and to support ongoing professional development in distance teaching and improved access to Icelandic language learning for a diverse group of students, regardless of their location.
