Mímir receives EQM and EQM+ quality certification

Yesterday, 19 September, Mímir was formally recognised for its operations meeting European standards for the quality of educational activities, validation of prior learning, and study and career guidance. This is a renewal of the EQM Quality Mark for training providers and EQM+, which certifies the quality of validation of prior learning and careers and education guidance. Mímir first received the EQM quality mark in 2012.

The Training Centre for the Business Sector is the certification body for EQM and EQM+ in Iceland, which is a transparent assessment process for trainers to evaluate their practices against recognised quality standards. EQM and EQM+ are designed to meet the growing demands for the effectiveness of learning and for common quality standards for education providers outside the formal education system. The certification takes into account the quality of the service provided by the educator, their internal quality management and procedures, as well as how current practices align with recognised quality standards. It is based on a self-assessment which is reviewed by an accredited assessment body, Vaxandi – Ráðgjöf, which also provides recommendations on quality matters and improvements during the assessment process.

Sveinn Aðalsteinsson, Managing Director of the Training Centre for the Business Sector, presented Sólveig Hilda Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir, and Anneyju Þórunni Þorvaldsdóttur, Assistant to the Director of Mímir, a formal certificate recognising that Mímir has successfully passed the quality certification.
