Mímir takes a big step into the future
Video conferencing equipment has become an important tool in teaching today. It is therefore essential that the hardware and software ensure seamless communication, just as if the students were in the classroom. But there is a connection between the Innu learning platform and the equipment. „We want to position ourselves at the forefront of educational providers. The equipment from Advania ensures that both the student and the teacher can establish a good connection, just as if they were in the same room,“ says Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir. The technology solution from Advania is now used by a large number of students every week, where even classes are a mix of in-person and remote learning. „The equipment delivers the quality to ensure everyone who speaks can be heard clearly, both teachers and fellow students, wherever they are. We have found that students and teachers are very happy with the technology and the learning is proving effective,“ says Sólveig Hildur.
More people can benefit from the course.
Mímis's aim is to make courses and teaching accessible to everyone, and the implementation of high-quality remote meeting equipment is crucial to this. „We want to make it easier for people, who may be studying alongside their work, to pursue their studies where it suits them best without compromising on quality. Communication between teachers and students is key, and we believe that with this investment, we have managed to move significantly into the future of distance learning,“ says Sólveig Hildur.
The needs of the market are constantly changing.
In a conversation with Sólveig Hilda, it emerges that Mímir is anything but finished with moving into the future and working in step with changing times. „The implementation of diverse teaching methods and technology is by no means complete and, in fact, never truly ends. This work we are currently undertaking obviously takes time, and it can be said that recent semesters have rapidly changed the landscape. The need for good remote teaching equipment is great, and the quality of remote teaching has become part of the image of educational institutions,“ says Sólveig Hildur. „It's one thing to invest in the technology, but another to implement the knowledge needed to ensure the equipment is used as intended and fulfils its purpose. We are so fortunate to be able to monitor the changes closely in close collaboration with the students, teachers and staff at Mímir. That is the key to the implementation succeeding,“ says Sólveig Hildur.
Stakeholder dialogue provides a clear vision
In February, Mímis carried out extensive strategic work, where all stakeholders were invited to the table: students, teachers and Mímis's clients. „We reached out to our various partners to get a clear picture of what we are doing well and what we can do even better. The conversation provided us with valuable information about where we want to head, and this is an important step on that journey,“ concludes Sólveig.
