New curriculum for community interpreting

Mímir hosted a breakfast meeting last Wednesday to mark the certification of a curriculum on social interpretation by the National Centre for Education, in accordance with the Act on Further Education. Work on the curriculum began at Mímir in 2017.

The curriculum was presented at the meeting, as well as a new course in community interpreting which will begin at Mímir this autumn. The meeting was well attended, and it was welcomed that there is finally a curriculum certified by level according to the Competence Framework for Icelandic Education and for higher education credits. The curriculum is an important step in strengthening community interpreters in their work and standardising their training.

Further information about the course is provided by Auður Loftsdóttir. [email protected] but enrolment for the course takes place at www.mimir.is
