New Year's greetings from the Managing Director of Mímir

Happy New Year!

The turn of the year is a time to look to the future and new opportunities. Many dream of starting their studies, even after a considerable break from education. Others want to strengthen their skills to get their dream job. Mímir offers a diverse range of courses and programmes suitable for a wide range of people, wherever they are on their educational journey.

Among the exciting new initiatives at Mímir are vocational Icelandic courses for people whose mother tongue is not Icelandic, who are interested in working in nurseries, after-school clubs, or in care. These courses are ideal for those who want to improve their Icelandic skills alongside their professional studies. Language courses such as Japanese, Italian and Spanish are also on offer.

Enrolment is now open for Menntastoðir, one of Mímir's most popular study paths, which has provided many people with new opportunities for their studies. The course is for individuals aged 18 and over. Those who complete the Menntastoðir programme with the required results can apply to the preparatory departments of universities, including Keili, HR and Bifröst. The programme is available both in-person and online. Support, follow-up and achievements are the hallmarks of the Menntastoðir programme at Mímir, and everyone is welcome.

An increasing number of people are attending the course 'Icelandic and Business Life', which is for beginners in Icelandic and combines language learning with information about Icelandic business life in the students' mother tongue.

The study and careers advisers at Mímis are on hand and ready to help people choose a suitable course of study, but the selection can also be viewed on the Mímis website. www.mimir.is It is easy to book a consultation with a careers adviser online, and meetings can take place by phone, via video conference, or here at Mímir.

We hope that the new year will be a rewarding and prosperous one for you.

On behalf of the staff of Mímis,
Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director
