Advice for businesses on the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
Companies are increasingly turning to Mímir for assistance in tackling the effects of technological advancement.
Mímir offers companies and organisations a service designed to help them tackle the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on their operations, as it is clear that certain jobs will change significantly and even disappear in the coming years. The service is provided as on-site consultancy. Managers receive advice on how to prepare for the forthcoming changes and support their staff. Staff in these roles are then given advice aimed at supporting them to cope with the changes. Often, this involves staff who have a short formal education.
The consultancy involves, among other things, informing staff, analysing their situation, and guiding them in finding ways to continue developing their skills in collaboration with the company. Increased digitalisation affects various jobs, and some companies choose to upskill their staff to meet the increased and changing skill requirements of the role. The focus of the guidance is on information, education and guidance, aimed at helping the individual to increase their self-awareness, knowledge of learning opportunities, and their ability to choose suitable paths for lifelong learning.
The project began last year in partnership with Landsbankinn, and Mímir has now entered into a partnership agreement with Orkuveita Reykjavíkur.
