Staff at Mímir took an active part in the Business Community's Learning Day.
Education Day for the Business Sector took place at the Hilton Nordica on Tuesday, 11 February, under the heading 'Jobs at a Turning Point'.
Education Day, which focuses on the education and training needs of the business community, is a joint initiative of the Confederation of Industry (SA) and all its member organisations.
Staff from Mímis gave presentations and took an active part in discussions on issues related to education and skills in the labour market. There were numerous seminars at Education Day, and Mímis staff gave presentations at two of them.
The seminar 'Do we all need to know Icelandic?' discussed the challenges and benefits of improving Icelandic language skills in the workplace. The discussion included topics such as who is responsible for Icelandic language teaching in the workplace and what resources are available for staff of foreign origin. The topic was addressed by Vanessa Monika Isenmann, a specialist in Icelandic language teaching in the workplace at Mímir.
The seminar 'Jobs of the Future – The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Skills Needs' discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on the labour market and which skills will be important in future jobs. Þórunn Grétarsdóttir, Head of Programmes at Mími, took part in a discussion about technological advancements, artificial intelligence and the skill requirements of the future labour market.
Mímir's participation in the Day of the Business Community highlights the importance of lifelong learning and skills development in a changing labour market. Through active participation in discussions and education, Mímir contributes to supporting individuals and businesses in tackling the challenges and opportunities that the future holds.
