The Future is Our Business – Mímir's Annual General Meeting 2024

The Annual General Meeting of Mímis was held at its premises at Höfðabakka 9, on Tuesday, 14th May.

„2023 was a year of great change for Mími, with quality and improvement as a priority. Specialist teams were established for the main areas of the organisation's work. They worked on innovation and development in line with the results of the strategy-setting from the previous year. Particular attention was paid to adapting the service, courses, learning framework and provision of further education to the needs of people who have immigrated and whose mother tongue is not Icelandic.“ says Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir, in Mímir's 2023 annual report, which she presented at the annual general meeting.

„On 7 September 2023, Mímir celebrated its 20th anniversary at the school's premises. A lot has changed in these 20 years. It is safe to say that Mímir has enjoyed great growth over the years. The operation has grown and thrived, and more people than ever have sought our services.“

„I am proud to be a part of the Mímis group and I am grateful to every single person who has contributed to Mímis. I thank the board and owner of Mími, all staff, both current and former, teachers, students and all partners for their strong and ambitious work over the past year and throughout the years. Fresh winds are blowing at Mímir, bringing more exciting opportunities for adults to learn and develop themselves. I am confident that Mímir has a bright future ahead of it,“ says Sólveig.

The board of Mímir consists of Eyrún Björk Valsdóttir from ASÍ, Selma Kristjánsdóttir from VR, Ragnar Ólason from Efling, Georg Páll Skúlason from RSÍ and Eyþór Árnason from the trade union Hlíf.
