
Transcript from the programme Reading and Writing in Icelandic – Foundation Programme
This splendid group graduated yesterday, 27th February, from an Icelandic course at Mímir. The course is called Reading and Writing in Icelandic. and is Icelandic at level 1 a slow-paced course, a total of 80 hours of study.
The course focuses on building a basic vocabulary in Icelandic for comprehension and spoken practice. Students also receive thorough training in Icelandic pronunciation and practise reading and writing.
Good teamwork and joy characterised this group, along with a very good attendance rate; all those who started the course in January completed it. They are ready to continue learning, and many intend to attend an advanced course starting on 10 March.
The advanced course is called Icelandic 2 and the business world – a slow journey and is a total of 98 hours of study where students continue to build their vocabulary and practise speaking Icelandic using a variety of methods, in addition to which they receive education about Icelandic business life.
