Graduation from the School of Heavy Industry

Fifteen students graduated from the Stóriðjuskólinn on 23 May at a ceremony held at Rio Tinto, Straumsvík.

This was the twenty-first cohort to complete the school's basic training since its foundation in 1998. This brings the total number of ISAL employees to have completed the programme since its inception to 253. The programme is managed by Mímir in partnership with Rio Tinto and the Education Fund, and is taught at Rio Tinto's facilities in Straumsvík. Álfhildur Eiríksdóttir is the programme manager for Mímir.
