A visit from Taiwan
The Taiwanese television station Hakka TV visited us this week to learn about the Icelandic way of maintaining our language and how Mímir takes part in this. The television presenter YiPin interviewed students on the Icelandic course to get a better insight into the teaching. One of the students is on a general Icelandic course at Mímir and the other on a vocational one. In addition, the teacher, Gunnlaugur Bjarnason, and Jóanna Dominiczak, Head of Icelandic Studies at Mímir, were interviewed.
Hakka TV is run by the Taiwan Broadcasting System and is the only television station in the world that primarily broadcasts its programmes in the Hakka language. They place great emphasis on the preservation of the Hakka language and culture in Taiwan.
It's really lovely to have a visit like this.
