The Early Years Educator and Support Assistant Bridge Programme is a tailored course for staff in nurseries and primary schools who wish to progress in their careers and qualify as an Early Years Educator and Support Assistant.

This is a way for you to develop your career and create new opportunities in a diverse working environment with children.

The Early Years and Support Worker Bridge is a bespoke course for those who work with children in nurseries and primary schools.

The course is practical, related to school work, and taught with the aim of strengthening you in your current role or in a future position within the school system.

The programme focuses on strengthening your professional awareness and self-confidence, as well as providing you with knowledge and understanding of:

  • Development and needs of childrenLearn more about what develops and shapes children.
  • The importance of play in learning and developmentGain an understanding of how play is a constructive way to learn and develop.
  • Effective communication and cooperation: Cultivate professional, clear and effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stronger professional awareness and increased self-confidence: Build self-confidence in your work.

Upon completion of your studies, you will graduate as a nursery assistant and support worker with an accredited qualification that is directly applicable in the workplace and strengthens your position for the future.

The course takes place in a blended approach of distance and on-site learning with the support of experienced tutors, making it easier for you to balance your studies with family life and work. One module is taught at a time, making the course flexible and accessible.

You take an active part in discussions and project work and receive regular feedback that supports you both personally and professionally in your studies.

The course is for those who work in  nursery and primary schools.

The course is intended for individuals who:

  • Have reached the age of 22
  • Have at least three years' experience working in a nursery or primary school.
  • Have completed 140 hours of professional training courses

  • Assessment is based on, among other things, attendance, coursework, quizzes and participation in lessons.
  • To complete the programme and graduate, It is necessary to achieve an 80% meeting.
  • The course is modular and is taught in accordance with the upper secondary school national curriculum.
  • Course Delivery: Please note that a minimum number of participants is required for the course to go ahead.     

Competency assessmentIf you have experience working in a nursery or primary school, you may be able to have part of your course assessed through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment.
