New course at Mímir: Financial Health – a path to a better quality of life

This autumn, Mímir is launching a new course for everyone who wants to get a better grip on their personal finances, build financial security and lay the foundations for a stronger future.

On the course Financial health – a path to a better quality of life Participants receive practical tools to gain better oversight of their finances, build savings and make informed decisions. The aim is to improve financial health and create greater security and a better quality of life for the future.

The course will cover, among other things:

  • saving and building up a reserve fund
  • Creating simple and effective financial plans
  • Loans and insurance
  • Pension savings and future planning
  • Buying a flat and running a household
  • Ways to set realistic financial goals and achieve them

 Experienced teacher with decades of knowledge

The course instructor is Þóra Valný Yngvadóttir, a financial adviser with over 25 years' experience in the financial markets. She holds a degree in Business Studies from Oxford Brookes University, is a chartered financial adviser and stockbroker, and is also a certified coach.

Thóra has also held numerous courses and lectures on personal finance across the country, sharing her knowledge in a practical and accessible way.

Practical information

  • Location: Mímir, Höfðabakka 9 – site survey
  • Dates: 21 September to 5 October
  • Days: Mondays and Wednesdays, 2 hours per session – 5 sessions in total
  • In English 10:00–12:00
  • In Icelandic 13:00–15:00
  • Price: 49,900 kr.

Participants are encouraged to check their eligibility for a scholarship from their trade union Regarding the course fee.
