Strategy meeting at Mími
Mímis's Education Mornings are held regularly for Mími's staff. On Thursday, 3rd November, the theme of the meeting was the ongoing work on Mími's strategy for 2023. The workshop was facilitated by Einar Birkir Einarsson, a consultant. Einar also took part in a strategy session held in March this year, where stakeholders from across the community came together to share their vision, ideas and expertise, which will now be further developed.
The aim is to formulate a clear strategy for the coming year.
„It is necessary for our operations to reassess our activities and have a clear strategy. The labour market and society are constantly changing, and it is important for the continuing and further education sector to be on its toes with its course offerings and to meet the demand of businesses and individuals,“ says Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, Managing Director of Mímir. Earlier this year, Mímir held a short strategy meeting where various partners addressed different issues and delivered their findings. When asked, Sólveig says these findings form the basis for the work the staff took on at this morning's meeting. „Certain themes emerged that it was decided to focus on. It was then up to the staff to develop these ideas further. We have been working on this recently, but this was an important step in getting everyone pulling in the same direction and working towards the same goal.
Extensive knowledge and human resources available.
In Sólveig's case, it was noted that the staff had put into practice the core values for which Mímir stands. „The knowledge here internally is immense and we have many opportunities to support individuals and business. We saw clearly the direction we want to take and the steps we need to take to achieve the results we want in 2023. I am confident that the outcome of today will move us forward and clarify where we can improve and what we are doing well. The team spirit among the staff is very strong, and we are all working as one to improve opportunities for our students,“ concludes Sólveig.
