Career Advisor/Project Manager
Mímir–Continuing Education is seeking a dynamic Learning and Career Advisor/Project Manager for a fixed-term position. We are seeking an independent and solution-oriented individual with a passion for adult and further education; experience in careers advice is also an advantage.
Scope of work:
- Providing adult people with guidance in the form of study and career counselling.
- Teaching related to careers and study guidance, including in the workplace.
- Implementation of competency-based assessments, courses/study programmes, in collaboration with workplaces.
- Job competency analysis and analysis of training needs in the workplace.
- Career-related advice and services in the workplace, including in relation to changes in the labour market associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
- Various types of promotion and the development of activity initiatives in collaboration with the business community.
- Supervision of and/or participation in domestic and international development projects.
- Various ad-hoc tasks.
Skills requirements:
- A licence from the Ministry of Education and Culture to call oneself a careers and employment adviser.
- Experience in careers guidance is an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience of professional consultancy and collaboration with workplaces is an advantage.
- Knowledge of portfolio assessment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the further education system and/or the work of adult education centres is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to show initiative, resourcefulness and the ability to work independently.
- A good command of Icelandic and a fair proficiency in English.
- Good computer literacy.
