Mímis services presented at Efling's representative training courses
Kristín Erla Þráinsdóttir, Head of Counselling and Recognition of Prior Learning, and Sanda Björg Ernudóttir, Project Manager at Mímir, presented Mímir's services to the trade union representatives. Strengthening. The presentations were part of a programme of courses for trade union representatives from various sectors of the labour market. They provided a brief overview of what Mímir has to offer and how Mímir's services can best benefit the members of Efling.
The presentations focused on introducing Mímis's study and career guidance which is free of charge for all members of Efling. Competency assessment was also presented as a way to have work experience recognised and validated when formal training has not been completed. In a competency-based assessment, it is possible to analyse and evaluate the skills that people have acquired in their work, and how such an assessment can be used when deciding on the next steps in their career or professional development. Then, a review was also carried out of Courses at Mímir and the courses the school offers in collaboration with Efling. The role of trustees as liaisons in the workplace was also discussed, as well as the importance of ensuring that information about Mímis's services is passed on to Efling's members.
It was a pleasure to meet with representatives from various sectors of the business community and introduce the services that Mímir offers to its members.
We thank Efling for the pleasant collaboration and look forward to continuing to work together.
