
Autumn conference for advisers in further education
Mímis's consultants took part in the Autumn Meeting of consultants in the field of further education, which was held on 26 August by the Training Centre for the Business Sector. The meeting focused on, among other things, immigrants and inclusion, neurodiversity, coaching, artificial intelligence, and new trends in careers and study guidance.
At the meeting, María Stefanía Stefánsdóttir, Head of the Icelandic Department and International Cooperation at Mímir, gave a talk entitled „Development projects aimed at inclusion and increased opportunities for immigrants.
In her presentation, María Stefanía discussed ways to better reach immigrants in terms of educational opportunities, Icelandic language skills and the demands of the labour market. The European Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), assessment of Icelandic language proficiency, and the importance of creating realistic pathways from Icelandic language learning to further opportunities in education and employment.
The autumn conference is an important forum for advisers at education and further education centres to share their experience, foster professional dialogue, and learn about new approaches and developments in careers guidance.
