Byko encourages staff to study

BYKO, in partnership with Mími – Continuing Education and the Icelandic School of Commerce, are joining forces to offer staff the opportunity to undertake a vocational course in retail and service. At a presentation held for BYKO staff recently, it was stated that the course is specifically tailored for working retail staff. The course is a response to the rapid changes in the labour market, which call for increased education, training and knowledge within the profession. The course is 90 credits and is a combination of distance learning and on-the-job training within the company.

Competency assessment used to evaluate competence

Many members of staff at BYKO have extensive experience which can be assessed for credits through a competency-based assessment with Mímir – Continuing Education. This allows individuals to have their work experience assessed for credits, thereby shortening their course of study.
